Just returned from the US after a 3 wk holiday.Had to travel in the economy class as the business class was full. The irony is that when we were downgraded by AI management to travel in economy clas it(economy)was full with plenty of seats in the executive class. Now that we are allowed to travel in the executive/business class the same is full and the economy light(in terms of seats)....We initially got separate seats but later on managed to sit together after changing seats.

When it is good for the airline (full flights) it is bad for the stfaf (vacation travel)When it s good for the staff then it is bad for the airline. But what is perplexing is that inspite of having good loads the route is still not profitable(as per newspaper reports) and the airline is thinking of removing the BOM JFK flights. So much for the airline.

Now a few words re our co passengers......A couple seated next to us kept on talking on the cellphone even after the aircraft was taxxing out.The crew did not say anything to the passenger inspite of the same being pointed out to him .The passneger finally hung up just before takeoff and said sorry with a leering grin

The same couple was guffawing loudly while watching a comedy serial on inflight entertainment without the least concern for ther co passengers who were all sleeping....This so much in contrast to other two passengers who agreed to swap seats so that we a family of three could sit together.

Finally the flight in economy class was NOT bad at all. After the initial resentment, fear of travelling economy.the journey was pleasant though a bit tiring.....the crew service was adequate and the food palatable..but then one must not expect business class service i economy class..........Till I fly again here ...is wishing OUR airline turns to profitablity soon.See More

  6. Promod Gupta Yes I fully concur and that is what I have mentioned in my posting.Wonder what wonders would Baladauf bring about in sucha situation......I also wonder why we cant increase our fares if there is so much demand. The only answer is that we are answerablr to the govt BOTH for seat factors as well as revneue. Therefore while teh revenues may go up becos of a fare increase the SF will go down and hence we are scared to go that way
